There is a need for more benches for the next academic year as enrollment is expected to increase. The need for benches is partly due to a fire that consumed some classes in the first cycle of the school and destroyed parts of the structure including benches. The numbers of additional benches are estimated at two hundred(200), and in combination with existing benches, will provide enough sitting capacity for the entire institution.
Fire Ravages Parts Of CCAST Bambili
The fire incident that happened at about 1pm today Monday February 17, 2020 consumed some class rooms of the first cycle of Cameroon College of Arts, Science And Technology (CCAST) Bambili.
According to information gathered at the scene by our reporter, the cause of the fire is blamed on a farmer who burnt grasses behind the school building in preparation for farm season. The fire went out of control and caught the ceiling of the building through some tall grasses beside the building.
It was through the help of the population and the fire fighting brigade who reacted with promptness from calls by the military and arrived the scene from Bamenda that the fire was quenched.
About three class rooms were consumed by the fire and only few benches and some class room tables were removed from the buildings.
